History 1857 AUSTRALIA'S FIRST PIPELINE
Australia’s first major water pipeline, the Morang-Preston pipeline, was commissioned in Melbourne in 1857. The cast grey iron main is still in service today.
1929 SPUN CAST IRON
Production of centrifugally spun cast iron pipe began at Port Kembla in 1929, in sizes up to 500mm diameter and lengths of 3.66m. This innovative method of production replaced the traditional vertical casting.
1962 TUBEMAKERS OPEN YENNORA PLANT
Tubemakers commissioned their modern plant at Yennora, New South Wales in 1962. The plant began producing sizes up to 600mm diameter, and the longer 5.5m lengths.

1976 CONVERSION TO DUCTILE IRON
In 1976 the Yennora plant converted to production of ductile iron, The plant today produces over 70,000 tonnes of ductile iron pipe each year in diameters 100mm to 800mm.
